I finally made a freezer paper stencil shirt for Johnnie and I love it! I got this black shirt and fabric paint at Dharma Trading and the stencil is from Stencilry. So much fun, I have plans for more soon--maybe with this one next.
I've been wanting to get my hands on some of this sweet elephant canvas for awhile and finally purchased it from Nuno.Plus' ebay store last week. Right after I ordered it SuperBuzzy got a whole new shipment of it in in every color. I may have to order some more in the gray color. See? Never mind, the gray is already gone...I just never act quick enough with ordering fabric, I think way too much about if I should buy it or not. Also shown here is my new fabric from my Free Fabric Friday win over at Sew Mama Sew. I love this fabric even more in person and I can't wait to make some fun stuff with it.
My Mom and I are both making a Simplicity 4589 top together. I am not that familiar with sewing clothing, so I needed a little help from Mom. I talked her in to making a top for herself too. So we got everything cut out today and about halfway through the sewing. I'm going to work on a little more at home this week and then will go back to get some help with the sleeves later this week. It is a pretty easy pattern and I can see that it would be much easier the second time through.
I whipped up this little set of patchwork coasters last night for my Mom's birthday. I love how they turned out, I've got to make a set of these for myself.
And I found out on Monday that I won the Free Fabric Friday over at the Sew Mama Sew blog!! Lucky me! I got to pick out a yard of any fabric. I chose the Pez fabric from the Peas and Carrots line. I had such a hard time making a decision, but I kept going back to this print. I love it and I've got some great ideas for it.
I've been busy with a bunch of projects lately, but everything seems to be half way done and nothing completed to post here. I am making some easy little flannel baby blankets for friends with new babies, all boys. I found some cute flannels at Joann's on sale for $2./yard. I rounded the corners this time, and I am hoping to make some bibs to match using the pattern in Amy's new Bend The Rules Sewing book (which I love).
I finally made a freezer paper stencil. I made this airplane using a stencil from stencilry. I plan to make lots more of these soon. I made a trip over to Dharma Trading and picked up a bunch of blank tshirts for Johnnie.
