gocco'd ornaments

Johnnie just started drawing smiley faces recently. I thought this picture of a snowman he made would be perfect as a holiday gift for his preschool teachers, grandparents and Aunties.

I used the gocco printer and the kit I bought a while back for printing on fabric. I printed on natural color linen and backed it with red gingham. I put a red velvet ribbon loop at the top to hang it.

These photos were snapped quickly before I had a chance to cut loose threads or tie the little gift tag on. Christmas is coming too quickly as usual and we are almost ready. I'm working on some quick and easy fleece blankets for nephews now and I'll try to get a photo up here before Christmas Day.

Love me a gocco

A year or so ago I read about the Print Gocco online and became obsessed with finding out as much as I could about it. Being a stay-at-home Mom I do try to keep within a household budget and this purchase just seemed frivolous at the time. But I kept thinking about it, noticing all the cool projects other people were doing with their Gocco machines. Kirsten recently posted about recieving a Gocco for her birthday and that got me thinking again about all the fun stuff I could be making. I started checking out the Gocco Flickr group again and reading up on the supplies I would need. My husband caught wind of my re-emerging obsession and with my birthday coming up later this month, he bought me this from Paper Source and it arrived on Friday! No sense in waiting until my birthday when I knew it was coming. I ripped open the box and we set to work making our first print.

I am truly amazed at how easy this is and the professional quality that it produces. I can't wait to try it out with a photograph and of course, on fabric!!
