A friend is expecting a baby girl at the end of March. It's always all about boys around here, so I was happy to finally have a reason to make a girly quilt. The groovy purple, pink and orange geometric print fabric is vintage purchased from Selena at Apron Thrift Girl. late last year. I used the same fabric for the backing and the binding.
The craft fair was so much fun. I really loved the excitement of having a deadline to get all my crafts finished and ready for the fair. The travel sized pillows sold really well, better than I expected. I had a few left over and they will be posted in my Etsy shop later this week.
The wooden toys, children's aprons, and wool crowns that you see below are made and sold by my friend that shared space with me at the show. You can find out more about her crafts here.
Getting ready for a craft fair is more fun than I imagined. I mean I was forced to go shopping at my favorite little fabric store the other day and buy a whole bunch of cute fabrics. And I've been sewing everyday because, well, I have to-- the craft fair is in four days! Here is a little peek in to some of the items I have been working on. These little pillows are a "travel size" and I think just right for a child's first pillow, napping, taking along on overnight trips to Granny's house and small pillow fights.
A dear friend of mine has (finally) opened an Etsy shop selling her beautiful handmade felted play mats for children. These mats are even more beautiful in person and they come with handmade hardwood toy figures. I love the natural feel of the wool and how easy they roll up to be put away. This truly is the perfect gift this holiday season.

This is going to be a wonderful event with some really talented crafters and artists, including my friend Nicole Vasbinder of Queen Puff Puff and StitchCraft. They already have a great lineup of vendors and if that is not enticing enough, gift wrapping and chair massages will be available.
This event is totally guy friendly...Petaluma's new craft beer tasting room, Taps is right next door and they will be running Craft Mart specials.
I will be there when the doors open as the first 50 attendees will receive a swag bag! Sound like fun? Hope to see you there.
Spooky Skulls made from marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles. Inspired by this recipe from Martha Stewart. They didn't come out quite as cute as Martha's did, but what ever does? They were a big hit at the preschool pumpkin party today.
