A friend at my husband's work is having a baby so I made this little blanket.
I love this bear fabric. I used white minky on the back which gave it
that super soft cuddly blanket feel.

Gocco Goodness and a bit of news
I am currently participating in Sarah's art of the note: gocco swap. I had so much fun putting together my notecards for this swap.
I had a little helper for printing the cards.
I wanted my notecards to be reminiscent of the summer, the vacations that we took this year and the time that we spent together as a family. My husband took some great photos when we were in Santa Cruz a couple of months ago and it all just came together.
I have been talking forever about opening an Etsy shop and I am thrilled to announce that I finally did it! I have only a few items in there right now but am adding to it slowly. I already sold one item and that was really exciting, it was a child's drawstring backpack. I am working on some more items that I will add soon. I had a couple extra sets of these note cards from the gocco swap and I have added them to the shop. Go take a look!
Turning 20 Quilt with Heather Ross Fabrics
After working for SIX months on my log cabin quilt I wanted to make an easy quilt. (and the log cabin is still not complete, I have to quilt and bind it still!) I wanted a really easy pattern, something I could make and finish all in a short period of time.
It took about a week to finish with quilting and binding and all, but it went together so fast and I am really pleased with the results.
The Turning Twenty pattern uses 20 fat quarters and makes a really, really big quilt. So, I opted for the modified version with 12 fat quarters. This quilt came out around 70" x 54".
Machine Quilting a quilt this big is not easy. I had wanted to do some free motion quilting but after practicing on scraps I decided against it. My stitches were way too messy, some really big and some really small. I put on my walking foot and did large square patterns.
I have to say that I love this line of Heather Ross fabrics...they are so, so very soft. I would like to use all of these lovely fabrics to make pajamas, sheets and pillowcases for myself. I know that the "lightning bugs and other mysteries" line has been out for a while but I am still loving all these sweet patterns.
I am making a quilt for each of my nieces and nephews right now. There are seven of them and this is the first one completed.
