I took a class last weekend with some friends to learn to make fabric bowls or baskets using fabric scraps and clothesline. The class was taught with the techniques used in the book It's A Wrap by Susan Breier.
This class was so much fun and I came home with this orange bowl about half way completed and finished it up this weekend. Unfortunately, I think I wasn't paying too much attention on the instructions on how to end the last coil of clothesline and mine came out with a pretty big bump. You can see the bump in the photo here. But I do love the look of the scrappy fabric and the fact that this craft is super forgiving, nothing precise here and what better way to use scraps!
There is also a really good tutorial here and I used it today to make another smaller round bowl. I haven't had a chance to take a photo yet but the end has less of a bump then this oval bowl did.
That's so funny...I was cleaning out my email box this weekend and came across this craft stylish link and got out my clothesline to start a bowl TOO!! Big kudos to you because you actually made the bowl mine is still a WIP!
I L_O_V_E the orange!
Did you go to the butter and eggs parade? We came up yesterday to go to Rivertown feed and got some chicks!!!
