gathering inspiration

My sewing machine is in the shop, something went wrong after the oven mitt fiasco. It is fixed now and I will pick it up tomorrow.

In the meantime I happened upon Sue Spargo's folk art quilt designs. I love her patterns and these small gift kits. She has some beautiful wool and cotton fabrics too.

I am also thinking it would be really fun to make these fabric baskets.

so much to make

I love this table runner that I saw in the Garnet Hill catalog. It looks like it would be pretty easy to make, I just have to find the right fabric. So, this is next on my list along with a whole bunch of other projects. I'm already looking forward to Easter and thinking about making some bunnies or chicks. I am probably the only one left who has not made Hillary's Wee Bunny pattern and I am planning to get to that before Easter.

A New Day

Christmas is over. I have to admit that as much as I enjoy decorating, buying and wrapping gifts for friends and family during the holidays I am always glad when it is over. The days after Christmas feel like time to prepare for the new year and start new projects and goals.

I have many projects that I would like to finish and even more that I would like to get started this year. And after a year of reading many wonderful crafty blogs I've decided to give my own blog a try. I'm hoping that having this blog will help movitate me to start and finish more craft projects.

Time to put away the christmas decorations and start crafting!
